Austrian Airlines temporarily terminates regular flight operations as of Wednesday night, 18 March 2020

As new entry stops are imposed worldwide every day and the demand for air travel is rapidly declining, we have decided today to temporarily terminate flight operations from Wednesday night, 18 March 2020, until 28 March 2020.

What does this mean for your already booked Austrian Airline tickets?

Departures until 28 March 2020:

Your cancelled flights will be rebooked automatically. Please check the status of your rebooking under 'My bookings' on austrian.com. If we have your contact details or you are a Miles & More member, we will proactively inform you about changes in the flight programme. It is not necessary to contact the Austrian Airlines Service Hotline.

Departures from 29 March to 30 April 2020:

For tickets with a departure date until 30 April, which were booked until 12 March, we offer an extended goodwill arrangement: Your tickets can be temporarily suspended. They must then be flown by 31 December 2020 at the latest, whereas the booked route may also be changed. The new travel date must be announced by 1 June 2020 at the latest. To take advantage of this regulation, please contact our Service Center by telephone or via the contact form on the Austrian Airlines website www.austrian.com.

Tickets with a departure date up to 30 April, which were purchased after 12 March, can be rebooked to a new flight date free of charge until the end of the year. The destination cannot be changed.
